Experimental investigation on static and dynamic characteristics of granulated rubber-sand mixtures as a new railway subgrade filler

Because of their low unit weight, strong linear elastic deformation ability, good durability and high energy dissipation, mixtures waste tire rubber sand have been increasingly used as a new type subgrade filler in railway engineering. To investigate static dynamic characteristics granulated rubber-sand filler, consolidated undrained monotonic cyclic triaxial tests were carried out. The reveal that the shear strength first increases then decreases with increasing content is maximized when approximately 10%.
